We are having a nice time visiting Jo and Joe in Mississippi. Keisha helped me get the kids to the airport and she stayed with them and her car while I short term parked the van. That was a huge help. I didn't know how I was going to get the kids, the two gigantic car seats, and the luggage all the way back to check-in by myself.
The flight to NOLA was great. The kids were wonderful. Jo and Joe picked us up in a minivan and drove us back to Hattiesburg, MS. We stopped at an Olive Garden (we don't have those in NY) about half-way home and had a really nice dinner. The kids were asleep before we got home.
Friday we went to Chick-fil-A, another thing we don't have in NY. I got the nuggets for the kids and the strips for myself. I didn't much care for the strips and the kids hated the nuggets, so we switched and everyone was happy :). They had a really cool "jungle gym" there that the kids liked too. Tor was way more adventurous than Jack.
After that we went to the library and took a tour. Two years ago my Aunt Ginny died and her husband Joel gave us quite a bit of money. At the time we were in desperate straights and it was a huge help to us. After Brian sold his company we turned around and donated the money to the Library in Ginny's name. They used it for the children's library -- for toys and programs and even a professional play. It was nice to see all the good things it was able to provide for the children of the community. I think Ginny would be very happy.
We came home and the kids took a nap and the we went to Mack's on the River for dinner with Beverly. The kids saw a really cute raccoon by the river and then we fed two ducks and some fish our goldfish crackers. It was fun.
Today we decided to go to a dog agility contest. The kids liked it almost as much as the adults. On the way there we stopped at Rite-Aid for some cold medicine for Jack and a pregnancy test for me.
Now we are back home and Tor is napping and Jack is waiting for me to get off the computer :).
