More "Off The Beaten Path"

I LOVE this bookstore. I have a travel mug from here from my trip years ago -- it's purple, my favorite color. I thought I lost the top in the move, but I found it. Whew.

This was the highlight of my trip back then. It was the first time I had ever seen snow (except for Florida snow) and I was sooooo cold. It was probably only in the 30's, nothing like outside now, but for me that was freezing.

I remember it being so cold that my ears hurt. I had never been that cold before. I had to go buy a hat and instead of one pom-pom at the top, it had three like a jester hat. I did lose that.

This bookstore had a cafe, which was unusual back then, and I would get hot tea and sit, read and warm up. It was right across the street from my hotel (which they tore down last year) so I went in every day, sometimes several times a day. They also used to let dogs in. Hot tea, books, dogs -- heaven. They don't let dogs in anymore though because they serve food now. (I know because there was a big sign on the door apologizing.)

I love this place. I am so glad I was able to go back there with Jack and create new memories.
