Jack had a blast at his party at Bellizzi on Sunday. Nearly all 17 kids from his school came and his friends Audrey, Owen, Matthew, Tyler, Alex and Mitch came too. Grandma Jackie, Grandpa Noel and Grandpa David came as did Walter's parents Brenda and Jim. Heather, Megan, Keri and Joey were also there. Oh and of course Walter, Kim, Carrie and Craig were there because they brought Mitch, Audrey and Owen.
We were running a few minutes late (so unlike us), and Brian dropped us off and went and got the balloons from the party store down the street. Jackie saw him driving back and she saved him a spot right in front and helped him bring in the balloons and the "Cars" party favors and balls.
The party room was all ready for us. Ingrid was giving tattoos to everyone. Jack didn't need any however because he already had "Cars" tatts from the night before. Juan brought in the appetizers and then got everyone pizza dough, sauce and cheese. The kids had fun making the pizzas and while they were cooking Ingrid played games with them.
Brian did the Hokie Pokie with Jack, it was too cute. I have it on video. They also did the Chicken Dance with lyrics I had never heard before: "I don't want to be a chicken, I don't want to be a duck, so I shake my butt...." It was really funny. After that they did the limbo and "popped popcorn" on the parachute (made dozens of balls fly all over the place). Finally they played with instruments. Jack had a maraca and he was shaking it like a mad man. Brian was worried he was going to give Audrey a black-eye.
By then the pizza was cooked and cooled down enough to eat. The kids enjoyed eating their creations. The adults had really good pizza too, but they didn't make it themselves.
Next everyone sung Happy Birthday to Jack and he blew out the candles (with a little help). After they ate the cake, the kids played video games out in the game room and Tor played in the toddler room.
I had gone a little crazy with the party favors. There was like 8 Cars related items in each bag as well as a small Cars kick ball that was too big for the bag. You should have seen me digging the Cars balls out of the wire holders at the party store. There were balls everywhere, they filled up my whole shopping cart. Brian thought I was a little nuts :).
So as they left each child got a bag and a ball. Then Walter and Joey helped Brian get everything to the car and we came home.
We have never seen Jack so happy. He smiled the biggest smile the entire time. It was so much fun.
