We picked up our new glasses Friday afternoon. Mine are just reading glasses (I am wearing them now) and after I tried them on in the store, they handed me a laminated sheet to read to see if I was ok with them. I could read the sheet perfectly but when I took off my new glasses, the sheet was blurry. I was convinced it was some sort of parlor trick, that the sheet started off as blurry but my glasses cleared them up. Sort of like the difference between a 3-D movie with the special glasses and without. I kept asking Brian and the woman helping us if the sheet was blurry, they had no idea what I was talking about. See the sheet wasn't blurry, that was just my vision without the glasses, my eyes had just gotten used to that and thought it was normal. How weird is that? So of course in the car I pulled out some parenting magazines and looked at them and wow, the words were so clear and big. I took off the glasses and the words were small and blurry again. So strange. I had no idea. I came home and looked at The Post, same thing. I looked at the book I am reading, same thing. I just couldn't believe it.
Then I ended up getting a headache because I just wasn't used to my glasses and reading things repeatedly with them on and without them on didn't help :).
Here's Brian with his new glasses. He had initial problems getting used to them too, in fact I had to drive us home. He hasn't had new glasses in 11 years and he described wearing the new ones as like playing a cool video game, everything is just so crisp and clear and seems to be right in front of your eyes. As he got used to them he said the old ones were like watching regular tv and the new ones were like watching HD tv. He said he could see every pore in my face, at least he didn't say wrinkle :).

Great photos!
They seem more clear than normal, more detailed. Maybe it's just me.
