Our very first apartment together

While I was watching the kids play in the bath tonight, I was flipping through a magazine and came across a full page ad for our old apartment building. It's been turned into condos. I checked out the site and found our floor plan, we lived in 3H.

It was an awesome apartment and we have a lot of great memories from there. Brian picked it out himself shortly before we were married. I moved into it sight unseen. The master bathroom was my favorite room. It was huge and all gray marble and mirrors and had a gorgeous skylight. It was also the most uncluttered room in the apartment so I spent a lot of time in there reading with the natural light.

Brian's office was the dining room and it was a mess. You could see it from the kitchen and the family room. It used to stress me out, I wasn't used to clutter. Now after almost 9 years, I am used to it and I am even the cause of some of it too.

What's weird is when I was about 11 or 12, we took a family trip to New England at spring break. We also visited my brother George's Godparents who lived in Waterbury, CT. While we were there we made a day trip to NYC and as we were driving I saw a green exit sign for "White Plains." For some reason that sign stuck in my head. Every couple of months I would see a green exit sign as I was driving around Florida and the "White Plains" sign would pop into my head. I thought it was odd, but didn't give it a lot of thought.

When Brian was looking for apartments he told me he was having a hard time in NYC (where he lived) because of Duncan, she was too big of a dog. So he told me he was looking for apartments just North of the city. After he put the deposit down for this apartment he called and told me about it. It was in White Plains. How cool is that? It was just meant to be.
