Sunday at Islands of Adventure

Sunday started off with a leisurely breakfast at The Kitchen. They sat us under the Cheap Trick memorabilia. That was pretty cool. I got my usual veggie egg white omelet with ham. Gotta have ham in an omelet. Brian loves their cheese blintzes and eggs benedict. The kids like the pancakes, waffles and sometimes the French toast. Victor and I also split some sausage links and cut up fruit. It was a yummy breakfast.

We ended up getting to Islands of Adventure just before 1pm. We headed straight for the Marvel Superheroes and got to see Spider-Man before anyone realized he was there. The kids got to spend extra time talking to him which was pretty cool. When the next people got in line, he got up and took photographs with them and then said bye to them. The kids were so happy he spent time talking to them. We also got to take a quick photo with Captain America. He had to leave by the time we found him but he stopped to take a photo with the boys which was really nice of him.

We checked out the comic book store, of course, and got a few books for the kids, two for Daddy and a couple of t-shirts for all the boys. Then we went over to Jurassic Park and met up with Barbara, Bill, Matthew and Tyler. Boy were the kids excited to see each other. It was so cool to hear them tell each other about meeting Spider-Man.

We had dipping dots for a snack and played in the dinosaur playground. Then we headed back to Marvel because Matt and Tyler missed seeing Captain America. We had to wait a few minutes for them to come out so the kids had some chicken and fries. When Captain America came out, we were the first ones to see him this time and got to spend time talking to him just like we did with Spider-Man. Tor LOVES Captain America so he was just thrilled to meet him.

Then we went and saw Rogue and Storm but we missed Wolverine because he had to get back to Professor Xavier's School, but we will see him again tomorrow.

Of course we had to go see Spider-Man again. Tor ran right up to him and Jack and I had to get him and bring him back to the end of the line so we could wait our turn. When we were the second in line he ran up to him again. He was just really excited to see him. Spider-Man thought it was funny too.

Jack knows that there is someone inside most characters like SpongeBob, Shrek, and Mickey Mouse but he really believes that the superheroes are real people. He knows there is a man inside the Spider-Man costume, but that man is just Peter Parker. It is really interesting how he thinks about them.

Brian was just so proud of his boys in the Marvel section. They knew all the characters and most of their back stories. Brian has the boys he always wanted to have.

After we met all the superheroes, we took a group photo in front of Doc Ock. Barbara's camera took the best shot. She is going to send it to me.

We rode the Storm ride -- it is just like the tea cups at Disney. Well Bill and I didn't ride it, we took pics while Barbara, Brian and the boys rode it. They had the biggest smiles on their faces while they were spinning around.

There was only about an hour left before the park closed, so we headed over to Seussland. Everyone rode the Cat in the Hat ride but me and Jack. Jack doesn't like how it spins. Then we rode "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish." At first Jack didn't want to ride because he didn't want to get wet, but Barbara told us the trick was to keep the fish as high in the air as possible. We did that and only got splashed as we were landing. I got the most of it so Jack was ok. Brian and Tor came off the ride soaked :).

Then we rode the train ride around the top of Seussland. I rode it too even though the sign said pregnant women shouldn't ride it. The lady said that was only as a precaution in case they had an emergency stop. I kept my hand between the belt and my belly and we were fine. If I didn't ride it one of the boys wouldn't have been able to go because it is a two seat ride. Jack wouldn't have gone on it by himself and there was no way Tor could go by himself. So Tor rode with Daddy, and Jack rode with me. Tyler and Matt rode together and Barbara rode by herself because Bill wanted a break. I got a great picture of him snoozing while he was waiting for us.

Next thing we did was the carousel. That was really nice. Daddy and I rode on it too right next to the boys. After that the kids played in the water area while Matt and Tyler rode the Cat in the Hat one more time right before it closed.

We had to stop at the gift shop on the way out and get the kids some action figures. Jack got Spider-Man and the Green Goblin and his son the New Goblin while Tor only wanted Captain America. We also picked up a post card to send to Jack's class.

The eight of us ate at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. That was a lot of fun. A guy on stilts made the boys balloon animals. He asked us if we wanted swords but I said no, my boys wanted dogs. Matt and Tyler got swords and fought each other all through dinner. It was cute that someone else's boys were doing that and not mine this time. Tor took his dog apart so it was just one long balloon again and then he popped it. He wasn't upset at all, he just wanted to see how it worked and he did so he was happy. When the volcano song came on, Jack sang it. I got that on video tape, he was too cute.

After dinner they headed back to their car and we took the boat back to the Hard Rock. We are going to see them again at Epcot on Wednesday.

When we got back to the room, the boys took baths and went to sleep and then Brian and I did laundry. It was really convenient because the laundry room was right down the hall from our room.

Tomorrow we are going back to Islands of Adventure and then spending some time at the pool before we head to Emeril's for dinner. Nanette and Lynn might join us because it is their 25th wedding anniversary. I hope they make it.

We had a really long day today but it was so much fun!
