The kids helped me make Vasalopita yesterday for New Year's. Jack wrapped the coins in tin foil and then he helped me add the ingredients to the bread machine. When the dough was done kneading and rising, both he and Tor punched it down for me, then they helped me cut the dough into seven 8oz pieces and then further cut them into fourteen 4 oz pieces. Then they put the coins into half the pieces for me and they helped me roll them into long pieces so I could braid them. When the pieces were braided and rolled into a circle, they put egg wash on them and added the sesame seeds. Tor did a really good job but Jack was terrific. He was such a great helper. He loves to cook.
