He had a great time at Stepping Stones Children's Museum. Last year we wanted his party here but I only called them a month in advance and by then the openings were already filled. They said to call 3 months in advance next time and I did. Yay.
We got there about 20 minutes early (very unusual for us). They asked us to be there about half and hour early so we were still 10 minutes late, but oh well, it worked out great. We got one of the rooms in the back with a wall full of windows overlooking where the bubbles usually are. It was such a gorgeous day that it was a perfect room for the party.
His friends all got there shortly after 2pm. At first Brian and I were worried no one would be there but everyone who said they would come came (except three of his friends that called yesterday and this morning because they were sick). We had 11 boys and 3 girls, not including 2 baby girls :) which was perfect, not too many kids and not too few kids.
When everyone first got there, they colored paper crowns that sort of looked like plain white Burger King crowns. Then Jack led everyone from room to room. We started with the "Rain Forest Adventure", then went to "Healthyville", then to "In The Works" and finally to "Waterscape". After they played for about an hour and 15 minutes, the kids went back to the party room and had pizza and then sang Jack "Happy Birthday" and had birthday cake. The cake was phenomenal. It was so good. It was a Spider-Man cake of course.
Soon after that the party ended but we stayed until 5 when the museum closed. Eason and Jack got to write notes to each other and send them via "Air Mail." Jack has wanted to do that every time we visit the museum but it is usually packed and he can't do it. He loved it.
On the way home he told us it was the best birthday party ever.
The icing on the cake, so to speak, was that Grandma Jackie pulled into the driveway right after we did and spent 5 hours with the boys. They were thrilled. She had some birthday cake and helped us open all of Jack's gifts and then had dinner with us too. Jack had the best day!

"Being able to let the museum folks set up all the food and fun...priceless." What a nice day. It's fulfilling when kids get to an age when they not only have fun, they APPRECIATE a special time like that...and he told you so!
