Saturday of Memorial day weekend we went upstate to visit Tante Nanny, Onkel Lynn, Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Noel. We had a great time. The kids had "adventures" in the woods behind their cabin and they feed some geese. They also found a lot of caterpillars and put them in bug houses Nanette had.
It was nice to visit with them. We had a cookout and then the boys roasted marshmallows in the fire pit. They actually had more fun roasting just the sticks. We didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning. We were able to stay there all day because Keisha came over and walked the dogs for us. That was great.

All you needed was a tent and a couple of sleeping bags, and you'd have had a swell camping trip! P.S. Be ready when the boys are old enough to have a pocket knife...the marshmallow sticks will get whittled away instead.

No way. At night it is pitch black outside. Darker than anywhere I have ever been. Plus they have a black bear that comes around nightly. Scary.
My kids are forbidden to have a pocket knife. I can't tell you how many times I have cut myself with a knife. If they are anything like me I will be cutting their food until they go to college so they keep all their digits :). No knives for them, pocket or otherwise...hehehehe.

BTW I am so not a camping kind of girl, Brian doesn't like camping either. YAY! Another reason we are perfect for each other :).

Monticello, it is South East of you, but still 2 hours away (like Catskill).
